The new year, the new day and the new beginning….

Life No Comments Email This Post Email This Post

Today is 1st Jan 2010 - the new year day. I sometimes think that how come one day is so different from the other. Everyday the nature behaves the same way. But somehow we classify some days very differently. Be it our birthday, our anniversary, special holidays, or any other special occasion. The very nature of the day makes it so special, even though we all know that everything in the world has remained same. Even on the most special day of ours, the sun continues to rise from the east.

Passion and Detachment - Can they coexist?

Life, Motivational, Spirituality 3 Comments Email This Post Email This Post

Passion and Detachment: Existing together - well, this may seem to be a paradox, and self contradictory in its true essence. Obvious question will be how can we be not attached to something we are passionate about. It is but natural, and some feel that is how it should be. Before going into this question in details, let us try to understand in what terms we are using Passion and Detachment here. Passion is something that you really want to do from your heart, it is something that you would love getting possessed with, something whose mere thought gives you a high. Detachment means not to get attached with things, to separate oneself from one’s activities and not get bogged down by its success or failure. Detachment basically means to maintain a spectator like attitude in life. Now, the million dollar question is - can we be passionate about something, yet remain detached to it? But before this question comes, we have another question in hand - Do we really need to be detached from our passion?

Look for “those signposts” in the road of life

I call these signposts as TSS ( The Spiritual Signals ). In the pathway of our life, we are always provided with these signposts, and then it is left to us to take the right road. I am reminded of a beautiful age old adage:

“God, provide me the courage to change the things I can,

and the courage to accept the things I cannot change,

and the wisdom to know the difference between the two.”

How to attract abundance in life

This article is continuation of my last article - “The feel of abundance - the real asset“. Now that we have understood the importance of having a feel of abundance, I will try to enumerate various facets of attracting abundance in life.

I would prescribe the below five fold path to attract abundance in life:

Think Big

The feel of abundance - the real asset

We are really fortunate to have being born as  a human being. We all have taken birth for some special mission - the earlier we realize, the better it is for us. Through us, the universal cosmic principle wants to convey the message of its upteem potential and beauty. Abundance is our real selves - there is no scarcity ever. There is nothing called as ‘recession’ in the world of spiritual realm. We are all one of a kind. We all have the ability to assert our individuality and yet remain connected with the eternal truth.

The world - A reflection of our own thoughts

Take this - “The world around us is nothing but a mere extension of our imagination and thoughts. What we think, what we speak - we become like that.  Our thoughts propel the surrounding around us in such a way, that it gets shaped up in the form we envision. Our thoughts emit vibrations and builts an aura around us, which has such profound effects that it starts manifesting materially. ”

The Real and the Unreal

Following kind of people, please back out from reading this article - those who believe in the hardcore nature of life, those who don’t like Shakespeare’s blank verses and metaphors, and those who like my articles on being aggressive in life.

Life is a Dream, so why to worry

There is a very nice Hindi song, written in the early 1950’s, which says - ” Zindagi khwaab hai, khwaab mein such hai kya, aur bhala jhooth hai kya”. Well, let me translate it into English - ” Life is a dream, and there is nothing called as truth and lie in a dream”. I can see some smiling faces here. But as a matter of fact, this is a profound statement and a life changing one as well.We are living under the realm of our limited imagination, and the fact is that we are living like the frog who thinks the “well” is what the whole cosmos comprises of. What amazes me is that we all know that, we have limited thinking and we cannot comprehend everything beyond a point, yet we want to believe on this self-acclaimed pre-occupied notions. What a pity! There is so much more to life, than the daily humdrums. The day we cover ourselves in the veils of the cosmic principle, we will be able envision a larger universe and we will realize what we are all about.

Give your Best, Let Life Do The Rest

Give Your Best, Let Life Do the Rest……………..

Friends, the above statement is a revolutionary statement. I got hold of this statement while I was reading the book ” Discover Your Destiny With The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari” by Robin Sharma. I have been very much enthralled by this statement. I can hear some critics saying that there is nothing called as destiny, they believe that harder you work, the more profound will be your result. But there is another statement which we ought to believe - ” There is substitute to hard work, but there is no substitute to bad luck”. But this does not mean that we have to resign to our fate and do nothing about it - if we do so, then we are living the life of a coward.

Heart is more Intelligent than Mind

Of late, I have realized that heart is more intelligent than mind. Many of you will be surprised with this sentence – well, I was myself surprised too. I have realized there are so many things beyond the intellect, which a normal mind cannot comprehend. Our heart is more closely connected with the spirit within. The moment we open up our heart, life opens up for us. So for a moment, as you read this, give your mind a rest, stop doing all those calculations which your mind always tends to do. More and more you do things from your heart, the more tranquility it will bring to you, the more serene you will become. Send your mind for vacation for some moments every day. Practice doing it on a daily basis, and you will realize that you have learnt the art of meditation. Meditation is all about reuniting your mind, body, heart and soul on a single plane.
