Look for “those signposts” in the road of life

I call these signposts as TSS ( The Spiritual Signals ). In the pathway of our life, we are always provided with these signposts, and then it is left to us to take the right road. I am reminded of a beautiful age old adage: “God, provide me the courage to change the things I can, and the courage to accept the things I cannot change, and the wisdom to know the difference between the two.” This is a very beautiful adage, which summarizes the whole life experience beautifully. There are certain things which can change instantly with our will power, and there are certain things which happen over a period of time; and there are certain things which will happen itself, without our intervention. We cannot change everything in the world ( applicable till we are humans - saints evolve and can change things ). So we need to understand the difference between the two. Fortunate are those who are blessed with the power to understand the things that they can change. It is with these aspects of life, that God provides us signals to take it up and adapt it in our life, so that we move to the next higher plane. But this power is not only for the fortunate few, but for all of us. It is just that we need to be prepared and aware all the times, to understand these signposts. These signals can come in any forms - it can be very subtle like thin air, or it can be as tangible as anything else. But we have to come out of the cobweb of our ignorance, to really understand these signals. It was said, ” Ignorance is bliss”, but in the current era, “Ignorance is no more bliss, it is rather a sin not to be aware”. Educating ourselves is a continuing process and carries on through out our life. We have to continually remind ourselves about “what is not” and “what is” is. I remember a nice story, which I heard in my childhood: “There was a stone cutter. He was a very sincere, honest and hard working guy. He used to cut stones, and make his living out of that. Though he used to really work hard, he was not able to sustain himself and his family properly. One day he prayed to God, to shower him with some rewards. Since he prayed to God in real earnestness, his prayer immediately reached God. God came to him and as reward for his hard work, gave him hundreds of bag full of diamond stones. The stone cutter did not know what diamonds were all about, and he thought these were normal stones, and so he threw them away in the jungle.” Let us not become like the stone cutter. We should make ourselves knowledgeable enough to know that we are being showered with this unprecedented gifts. “Faith is giving divine a chance to act”. But we also need to know when the divine act happens. We cannot continue to lead a life of fallacy, and believe that there is no divine intervention in our life. Believe it or not, every moment of our life is a result of divine intervention, and every moment is “the “pious moment. We keep getting the signals which are relevant to the times and our need. This article that you are reading is also a signal to you - to make you become aware of this fact. All we need is to be aware, and then connect the disjointed dots, and then we can see the entire gamut of our life, and we can easily make out where we are heading, why we got this life, what is the purpose of this life, and why we are here. We need to sit and introspect and try to connect those signals. Once we do this with high degree of awareness, we can clearly see the pattern of our life and then we come to about that eternal purpose of our birth.

At times in life we need to be made aware of facts which we already know..but over the period of time they get locked in some silent corner of our existence..Articles as good as these then knock those doors and again open them back to us…Splendid effort

Hi,
I think you write well and do bring some points to ponder over.
But that does not justify classifiing people as evolved ( saints) and evolving.Evolved has no meaning when you consider all living to die, all knowledge, Karma, happiness, sorrow, fame or any feeling that can be felt such earned or learned will not exist or be meaningless after death as the above things refer to living as we know with people and our image of self in the group we choose to live or imagine it to be.
I agree that there could be things we have not felt or experienced or may be divine also but the test of it is in the effect it gives and not in disciplining yourself to feel it in a particular way as that is imagining the unimaginable which is a continuation of your mind’s creativity and nothing above the mind to justify a change of thought (maybe it is also not required)
In this context how do you justify any knowledge or experience to be benficial beyond our life of a 80 years, considering there were and are more years before life and after death of a person???
Regards,
RK
